3G Network Shutdown: What It Means for You

As many of you are aware, Australian telecommunications providers are shutting down the 3G component of their network. This is being done to increase the capability and reliability of their 4G and 5G networks.
Vodafone has already switched off their 3G network in January 2024. Telstra will follow and will shut down their 3G network in June 2024. Lastly, Optus will shut down their 3G service in September 2024.
While most new GNSS receivers and controllers now have 4G capabilities, there are some older generation receivers which will be affected by this shutdown. Please see the list of common devices below.
